Noodles. Soup. Noodles. Could live off them. Perhaps I do. Close to it,
at least. I am particularly partial to Singapore
Noodles, Tom Yum Soup and Laksa.
For Singapore noodles in Adelaide I can highly recommend going to Wok's Happenning (in
Hutt St). Tom Yum soup is rarely bad, however the best I have had is in the Mandarin
House (on Gouger St). Eat there. Eat everything there (except the
Singapore Noodles). It rocks. This is a place that has chilli ratings next
to each dish. Xing Jiang Fried Noodles or Shanghai noodles are the best. These guys make their own egg noodles by hand. Awesome!
I have many favourite Thai restaurants. But definitely try Nu's on Gouger Street. The Crispy fried barramundi. Yum! Also, the red duck curry is delicious.
I started a Tumblr for collecting pretty pics and recipes of food I drool over.
I got over my coffee addiction. I suppose I am therefore a coffee snob now.
I order my "latté and a
glass of water" wherever I know the coffee isn't good enough for me to get an espresso.
Technically it's a flat white in a cup,
but I swear they *do* put more milk in it than they do in flat whites.
Hell you need the extra milk so you can stomach the ultra over roasted
beans that most cafés uncerimoniously shove your way. They think their
coffee is great because it is strong tasting but that doesn't make it a
good taste. It's simply vile, over roasted beans. Hmph!
I'm also partial to a good tea. Particularly Earl Grey with lemon. Mmm..
I love a good martini. Love a good gin: No 10 is my favourite followed by Tanqueray and Bombay Sapphire. There are still a lot of very good gins I haven't had the pleasure of trying. If the gin is less good then I'm all in for a gin and tonic.
I am partial to funky cocktails.. particularly of the lychee "martini" variety. But then again I also like bitter stuff. I like a lot of stuff.
This is one of the best cocktails ever invented:
Flaming Fairy
1/2 cup Apple Juice
30ml Apple Schnapps
Put a large circular slice of apple on top
Slowly pour 30ml Pernod (Absinthe) over the top so it sits mainly above the apple
Set on fire
While on fire, liberally shake a mixture of sugar and cinnamon over the top (and watch pretty, burning stuff)
Blow it out
Turn the apple over a few times and stir it lghtly so it looks cloudy
Much as I love cocktails and all.. I am also a very big wine drinker. I love both reds and whites, but since my teeth change colour easily you'll normally find me only drinking white in company. Unless it's dark :)
Beer = Coopers, Mountain Goat, Blue Tongue, James Squire & Belgium stuff. And when I'm less fussy it's whatever's going. :P
I absolutely love going out to live shows of all types. I try to keep
hold of all the tickets for keepsakes, too. Most of the recent ones are
here on flickr.
I like heaps of movies.. but here are some of my favourites:
Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Blade Runner, Fight Club, Garden State, Monty Python, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Moulin Rouge, Secretary, Serenity, Office Space, Clerks, Equilibrium, Lord of the Rings, Tank Girl, Mirrormask, Love Actually, Brazil, 12 monkeys, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pride and Prejudice, Election, Legally Blonde (1 & 2), The Lost Boys, Back to the Future, American Beauty, Once Were Warriors, The Cube, Go, Big Fish, Snatch, Withnail & I,

I even have a copy of the Rocky Horror Picture Show script with callouts as doctored by me.
As for the TV list.. my viewing pretty much ends after these
shows. And I rarely watch TV on the actual TV. I get copies of the
shows and watch them on DVD or my computer when it suits me. This is
what I like:

I just love seeing girls kick butt. I have been seriously contemplating making a dvd of the best girl-kicking-arse scenes.. I think it would be great. :) In the meantime I guess I'll just keep myself entertained by watching said kick arse movies and series:
Buffy (Willow & Faith too!), Firefly - (I love River!), Resident Evil (Milla Jovovich!), Kill Bill (Especially Gogo!), Harry Potter (Hermione Rocks!), Bend it like Beckham (okay, so more like girls kicking balls, not butts), Charlie's Angels, Sin City, Matrix (Trinity!), Alias, Alien, Heroes (Claire!)
I'll keep adding more heroines as they come to me. :)
Music means so much to me. I like to always have
something on.. but I am somewhat discerning in my taste. Once I find
something I like I love to listen to it over and over until I know it
really well. Not so much to get to know it better.. but more because
the music fits my mood at the time so well. This way music can identify
with eras of my life.. or moods or whatever. For instance, Philip Glass
is my working music. I love to relax to Glass too, but if I want to
work I find it very hard to do without Glass. I love music that fills
me with emotions and drains me. I love the journey.
I tend to mainly listen to alternative music or chillout but I'm also a
classical fan (particularly choral music). Triple J, Fresh FM and ABC
Classic FM are my favourite radio stations and I also love watching
Rage. I'm a huge fan of live gigs and festivals.

The smallest bookstore still contains more ideas of worth than have been presented in the entire history of television.

I am a game nut. Usually in cycles. Cycles that are fairly dependant on
other players. Will play most games, but am always trying to get groups
together to play Monopoly (the link is to the official rules cause everyone
always argues about them), Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Mankala (but I don't have my own board so I always need
reminding of the rules), 500, Canasta/samba (i've never had the chance to play samba as there's
never enough people round who know it), Fluxx,
Bridge, cribbage and Cripple Mr Onion (although I
need to get a spanish deck of cards - and not that I've ever made it all
the way through the rules myself). There's also lots of games I have
forgotten.
